Musical transcription is the process of listening to a piece of music and writing it out in a form that can be read, learned and played by others.  If there is a song that you want to learn to play for which you need the sheet music, I am here to help you.

The majority of my work is piano transcriptions, but I can create sheet music for other instruments as well.  I can transcribe almost any kind of music, including classical, pop, jazz, rock, anime, and even video game music. Although I do not make TAB sheets for guitar, I can easily do a lead sheet with guitar chord symbols.

The amount I charge for a transcription varies depending on the complexity and length of the piece, but the price is usually around $1.00/measure for piano, $0.50/measure for one vocal or solo instrument, and $0.25/measure for each additional voice or instrument.  There is no extra charge for repeated measures.

Getting a transcription done takes three easy steps:

Then just send your selections to .  I will respond with an estimated time and cost, usually within 24 hours.  If you don't receive a reply within a few days, check your junk mail folder, and resend your request to my personal address (the live.ca account mentioned above).

The final product can be e-mailed to you as a high-quality PDF file (opens with Adobe Reader) that you can print at home; you can also request a hard copy by mail.  MIDI files and transpositions are available upon request for no additional charge.

Transcriptions are usually completed within a week, depending on how busy my schedule is.  Lead sheets and chord charts are typically done within 2-3 days.  For convenience and security, payment is available through PayPal.  If you prefer, I also accept checks.

I am a diligent worker who strives for nothing less than perfection.  If I'm not fully satisfied, it's not finished.  I also guarantee your satisfaction: if you have any issues with the finished product, contact me within 30 days for a free touch-up.
